History

Over the course of the past 29 years Taylor Development has successfully developed over 8,000 lots and over $900,000,000 in commercial and residential real estate in the greater Puget Sound area.
Taylor Development, a second generation company, has its roots in the Taylor family involvement with the Cadman Company. Kevin’s grandfather, Tor Magnussen, purchased Cadman Gravel in 1946.
In 1968, following 22 years of handshake business, Tor brought on his son-in-law Paul Taylor to take the company to new heights. Through Paul’s diligent work ethic and customer service, the business grew at an incredible rate. Over the next decade Cadman emerged as the largest sand and gravel supplier on the West Coast of the United States.
Shortly after the sale of Cadman Gravel in 1991, Paul began his foray into land development. After several years of capital investment in the development industry, Paul leveraged his experiences to lay the groundwork for what was to soon become a premier Northwest development company.
Kevin Taylor founded Taylor Development (Taylor Development, Inc.) in 1993 with the support and wisdom provided by Paul’s successes. The business model started with single family detached lot development as well as single family home construction. Kevin’s ensuing partnership with CFO Jeff Hamilton and COO Kevin O’Brien united three of the strongest minds in the industry, putting in place the Principal team that leads Taylor today. Employing the same style of business acumen his father used to grow Cadman, Kevin aggressively expanded Taylor’s reach to include the development and construction of offices, office parks, commercial as well as retail and residential properties. Today Taylor is recognized as an industry leader and trailblazer across all types of land development.
